Dr. Hammam Alloh was a nephrologist from Gaza; he was 36 years old; he was killed by an Israeli missile fired on November 12, 2023, at his home, near Al-Shifa Hospital.

He was born in Gaza and attended elementary and secondary school in Gaza City.

He studied medicine at the University of Sana’a in Yemen. He later specialized in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Jordan, where he worked for several years.

After 14 years of study and specialization, he returned to Gaza; he worked at Al-Shifa Hospital and was the only nephrologist in the Gaza Strip. He was married and had two children, ages 4 and 5.

In an interview with American journalist Amy Goodman, Dr. Hammam described the catastrophe caused by the Israeli aggression and the human and medical suffering at Al Shifa Hospital. The journalist asked him why he didn’t head south.

His response to the interviewer sums up his life: “Do you think I studied medicine for more than fourteen years just to start reflecting on my life and abandon my patients?” Days later, an Israeli attack targeted the home where he was staying, killing him instantly along with his father, his father-in-law, his wife, and her brother.
