Mohammad Al Ghalban was a 16-year-old Palestinian boy with a passion for gymnastics and soccer; he practiced both with his twin brother Ahmed.
The two brothers lived with their mother and family in Beit Lahia, very close to the northern border of Gaza.
Since they were 7 years old, they had joined the "Gaza Star Circus School" and trained in gymnastics and acrobatics at the club and at school. They made great progress; they mentored other students and had plans to perform in Egypt.
As Israel occupied Gaza and ordered its forced evacuation, they had to move with their family several times to Nuseirat, in central Gaza. There, they continued to practice what they had learned together on the beach and coached others.
With the ceasefire in January 2025, they and their family returned to their home in Beit Lahia, only to find it half destroyed and half burned. They cleaned it up and settled in. The next 50 days were the happiest of the twins' lives. They started a small business, cleaning houses damaged by the bombing.
On March 18, 2025, Israel broke the ceasefire agreement. On March 22, 2025, the Occupation Army issued evacuation orders in the neighborhood where they lived in Beit Lahia. As the families attempted to evacuate on foot, the Israeli army began the bombing. An uncle and a 6-year-old cousin were killed instantly. Mohammad and Ahmed were wounded and taken to the Indonesian Hospital. Mohammad died, and Ahmed lost both legs and part of a hand.
