1.- Dr. Omar Harb was a prominent psychologist, writer, and poet; he died at the age of 60 in Gaza on September 4, 2025, from starvation and lack of treatment for the cancer he was suffering from, due to Israel’s criminal siege that had been in place since March 2025.

2.- He had graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Egypt. Since 2007, when Israel isolated Gaza, he had participated in various community events to help his community.

3.- He lost 26 members of his family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren, among them his daughter Abeer, who was martyred in the bombing of their home on December 11, 2023, in the Shohada Refugee Camp in Khan Younis.

4.- In 2022, Abeer had lost her fiancé, Abdel Hamed Dweik, in the bombing of their home by Israel (prior to the genocide).

5.- He weighed 120 kg in October 2023 and 40 kg when he died. Due to his extreme weakness, he had to use a wheelchair, which was denied to him by Israel, as well as treatment or evacuation for treatment, which was supposed to take place during the past Ramadan.

6.-Since Israel broke the second ceasefire in March 2025 and imposed a total siege, 368 people have died of starvation, including 131 children, with Dr. Omar being one of those victims.
