1.- Dr. Hamdi Al Najjar was 38 years old. He lived with his family in Quizan Al Najjar, east of Khan Younis, and worked as a doctor at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

2.-His wife, Dr. Alaa Al Najjar, 35, was also a pediatrician and worked at Nasser Hospital. They had 10 children: Yahya (12), Adam (11), Rakam (10), Eve (9), Jibran (8), Raslan (7), Rival (5), Sayedín (3), Luqman (2), and Sidra (7 months).

3.- Dr. Handi and Dr. Alaa Al Najjar spent many hours in the emergency room at Nasser Hospital due to the large number of sick and seriously injured children resulting from Israel’s violent bombings of Gaza after it violated the ceasefire in March 2025, in addition to the complete siege of the Gaza Strip and the famine deliberately caused by Israel.

4.- On June 24, Dr. Hamdi took his wife, Alaa, to the hospital for work. When he returned home with his children, a first missile struck the building but did not explode; then a second missile hit the building, completely destroying the house and causing a fire. Emergency crews rescued Dr. Hamdi and his 11-year-old son, Adam, who were seriously injured.

5.- A nearby auto repair shop caught fire; they didn’t even have time to evacuate the building. Seven of Hamdi’s children were burned to death and their bodies were mangled; 12-year-old Yahya and 7-month-old Sidra were missing under the rubble. The news of the brutal murder of the nine siblings of the Al Najjar family was reported in all media outlets.

6.- Dr. Alaa, at Nasser Hospital, learned of the deaths of her nine children and that her husband Hamdi and her 11-year-old son Adam were seriously injured. Dr. Hamdi succumbed to his injuries on June 1, 2025. On June 11, 2025, Adam was evacuated, along with his mother, Dr. Alaa, and 17 other critically ill patients, to a hospital in Milan, Italy, that had offered its assistance.
