Saed Qadoum, Saeed Fahed Al Qadoum, lived in the Shujaiyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, where his mother and siblings also lived with their families; he was 36 years old, married, and had three children.

In 2018, he was shot by an Israeli sniper during the “Great March of Return” protests against Israel, which were held in response to the blockade of Gaza since 2007 and to demand the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes in territories occupied by Israel. The bullet shattered his left leg, and it had to be amputated below the knee.

Saed and his family lived with his mother, Hajja, his older brother, Fahmi, 40, his wife, and children. His younger brother, Muhammad, was wounded up to 12 times during the “Great March of Return” demonstrations. He was killed in September 2023 in eastern Gaza by an explosion, which also wounded Saed.

Saed joined the para-cycling group Gaza Sunbirds Team; this team was founded in 2020 by Alaa Al Dali, a Palestinian cyclist who had also been wounded by Israeli snipers in 2018 during the “March of Return” protests and had his right leg amputated, along with Karim Ali, from London.

Alaa was part of the para-cycling team; he sought funding; he organized events with aid programs, such as food distribution and shelter. They have distributed approximately $450,000 in aid and participated in the Sumud Flotilla in 2025 and 2026, sending a ship inside.

After the “ceasefire” of October 2025, at 3:30 a.m. on March 28, 2026, the Abu Shabab militia raided the house, with the support of the Israeli army and drones; they wounded Saed, who, along with Fahmi, confronted the militia while the family fled to a nearby school. They were ultimately killed by an airstrike in a nearby alley.
