1-Muhammad Zakaria Eid was 14 years old and lived with his parents and another brother in Rimal, Gaza City.

2- They had moved from their home in Jabalia to Rimal in Gaza City when Israel ordered the evacuation. He had three other brothers, but they were killed by Israeli bombing during the genocide in Gaza.

3- During the displacement, his older sister was killed in a bombing. His brother Ahmed, who worked in a community kitchen and brought food to the family, was also killed in an Israeli bombing. His brother Yahya was killed while fetching firewood for cooking.

4- To refute accusations of genocide by the UN and of starving the population, in late July-August 2025, Israel allowed aerial drops from different countries as propaganda, denying that there was hunger, while 6,000 trucks carrying humanitarian aid remained blocked from entering Gaza by Israel.

5- On August 9, 2025, Muhannad, with an empty backpack, accompanied his father and brother to Nuseirat, near the Netzarin corridor, to get some food from the pallets dropped by parachute, locally known as “mistah”; but one of them fell on him, hitting him on the head. His father, brother, and neighbors pulled him out, injured and unconscious.

6-He was taken to Al Awda Hospital in Jabalia, where they tried to treat him, but he succumbed to his injuries. Aerial drops are costly, insufficient, chaotic, and dangerous in areas where the population is severely overcrowded due to forced displacement. There have been 124 victims of aid drops, 23 of whom have died.
