- Jamal Al Din Abu Al Ola was 25 years old and lived in Gaza City. He had been fatherless since he was very young; Israel had killed his father in 2000, during the First Intifada.

- His mother, Raeda, 46, was left a widow and in charge of her two sons, Jamal and Omar, 24. Due to evacuation orders in November 2023, they moved to Khan Younis, which was also attacked in February 2024, causing many families to take refuge in Nasser Hospital, which was surrounded and besieged by the IOF.

- His brother Omar went out to get something to eat; he was shot in the leg by the IOF and taken to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah. Jamal left the Nasser hospital complex to visit his brother on February 12, 2024.

- he IOF, which was besieging the hospital, detained Jamal, made him undress, put him in a quarantine suit, and placed a yellow cloth on his head. On February 13, 2024, he was sent in handcuffs to deliver a warning message to the people besieged in the hospital (more than 10,000) to evacuate.

- He entered the hospital to deliver the IOF's message: “Everyone must leave” and “The IOF is going to destroy the hospital.” The people in the hospital told him not to return, but he replied that he had to return in 10 minutes or they would kill him, his mother, and the group of men they had taken hostage. The video of his entry and message at Nasser Hospital went viral in the media.

- Less than two hours after entering the hospital, Jamal was filmed dead inside a shroud, killed by two IOF shots to the chest and abdomen. He had been executed as he left Nasser Hospital; some men risked their lives to rescue his body, despite the IOF shooting. The hospital was attacked and destroyed by the IOF like other hospitals in Gaza.
