1- Faraj Faraj had studied business administration and lived in Gaza City; he was married to Nuha Madmoud Shatto. They had six children: five girls and one boy.

2- He lived with his wife Nuha and their six children—Zeina, 14; Leen, 13; Razam, 11; 5-year-old Ali, 6-year-old Suad, and 2-year-old Jourie, in Gaza City in the five-story “El Sadeeq” building on Yarmouk Street, along with Nuha’s parents, Nuha’s brother and sister, and their respective families—where they had moved from their home in Suhaijiya at the start of the massive bombings.

3- He had been working at the Ministry of Finance since 2006 as a clerk, distributing documents and computers. At the start of the ground offensive in Gaza City on December 23, 2023, he was detained by the IOF but was released two days later without charges.

4- He was arrested a second time on March 18, 2024, during a second raid by the IOF on Al-Shifa Hospital, where hundreds of Palestinians were detained; he was then sent to Ofer Prison for 11 months.

5- On February 15, 2025, he was released as part of a hostage exchange under the ceasefire agreement—in which hundreds of Palestinian hostages were exchanged for three Israeli hostages—and returned home. However, on March 2, Israel broke the ceasefire agreement and resumed a total siege and bombing of Gaza, particularly the north. On April 24, 2025, while he was in his apartment with his son Ali in his arms and his daughters playing, as Nuha prepared pasta in the kitchen.

6- A warplane bombed the apartment, completely destroying it. Faraj died instantly and was thrown by the explosion onto the roof of a neighboring building, along with his daughter Jouri, who was torn to pieces, and his son Ali, who survived with injuries to his abdomen, leg, and head. His other four daughters, his in-laws, his brothers-in-law, and their families—a total of 13 people (others say 15)—died in the apartment; only Nuha survived with injuries to her back. She witnessed her family being killed and her son Ali wounded on the neighboring rooftop.
